Things between Kapuso stars Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana have clearly settled as both move forward with new chapters in their personal lives.

Recently, the Kapuso actress announced her engagement by posting a photo of her diamond ring on Instagram. Later on, she confirmed the news with the King of Talk Boy Abunda.

The announcement made headlines and drew congratulatory messages from fans and colleagues, including her ex-husband Tom.

During a media conference for the Metro Manila Film Festival entry Unmarry, Tom extended his well-wishes to Carla.

"I wish them well, sincerely," the actor said. "I'm glad that, you know, that everyone is moving on... I wish them well. Everyone deserves happiness, and we all deserve to be happy kaya I'm glad we've all finally moved on.”

Meanwhile, when the 24 Oras team asked Carla about Tom's message at a separate event, she declined to comment after seeing a portion of the video.

"Ayoko 'yan, oo. Si five years ago na 'yan, e. Ang luma naman 'yan," she said, denying to react fully.

Carla and Tom married in 2021 and finalized their divorce in 2022.

Tom returned to the Philippines last year and shared that he was in a new relationship, although he kept details private.

In November 2024, the Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre actor confirmed that he is now a father to a son named Korben.

Carla also hinted at dating someone during the GMA Gala 2025.

She also soft-launched her new partner in November with a photo showing her hand resting on his lap.

Carla later confirmed the relationship on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda. “It was a date, yes. I've been actually seeing him. Kita n'yo naman, nakakadalawang post na po ako, 'di ba? Parang may pagka-soft launch po. Pero matagal ko na po 'yan siyang kilala,” she said.
